Description

Glass microfiber filters Grade GF/F from Whatman offer a good flow rate and loading capacity. Manufactured without chemical binders from high quality borosilicate glass microfibers. Filtration speeds generally much higher than conventional cellulose paper filters. Efficient separation of micron and sub-micron sized particles. Ideal for use in flat, perforated Büchner funnels.

Recommended usage:

  • Biomolecule purification techniques.
  • DNA binding and purification.
  • Protein and fine protein precipitate filtration.
  • Landfill leachate toxicity testing.
  • In conjunction with GF/D filters: as a prefilter for clarification of extremely difficult biochemical solutions/fluids, and nucleic acids.
  • Highly suitable for air filtration.
  • Gravimetric analysis of volatile materials where ignition is involved.
  • Suitable for gravitational or low-suction filtration.
  • Usable up to 550 °C.
