Glass microfiber filters Grade GF 6 from Whatman achieve fast filtration and have a high loading capacity. Manufactured from high quality borosilicate glass microfibers, with an inorganic binder as opposed to most glass microfiber filters. Filtration speeds generally much higher than conventional cellulose paper filters. Efficient separation of micron-sized particles. Ideal for use in flat, perforated Büchner funnels.

Recommended usage:

  • Very fine particulates.
  • Biochemical gelatinous precipitates.
  • Water/air pollution assessment.
  • As prefilters for membranes.
  • Scintillation measurements.
  • Radioimmunoassays.
  • Suitable for gravitational or low-suction filtration.
  • Usable up to 500 °C.

Whatman Grade GF 6 has a nominal porosity <1 µm.
