A safety cabinet and a LAF bench is a controlled workspace with ventilation designed to protect the user, the product, and the environment from aerosols. It is crucial that the chosen safety bench meets the necessary requirements to ensure optimal protection. The safety benches are divided into three classes:
•    Class I: Protects the user and the environment—used for handling powders and organic solvents.
•    Class II: Protects the user, the environment, and the product—used for microbiological work and handling pharmaceuticals.
•    Class III: Provides maximum protection and is used for handling highly infectious microorganisms.

Esco Lifescience manufactures Class I and II sterile laminar flow benches and biosafety cabinets for optimal protection. If you need a Class III bench, we recommend a SKAN isolator. We can customize solutions for all classes that meet your specific biological (and non-biological) needs.
