Quantitative filter paper circles, Whatman Grade 42

High-purity ashless filter paper made from pure cellulose for general-purpose quantitative analysis with very slow flow rate. Grade 42 quantitative filter papers have the finest retention of all Whatman ashless filter paper grades, and is designed for gravimetric analysis and sample preparation for instrumental analysis. The high purity of Cytiva Whatman's Grade 42 filters also makes them suitable for processes that require ashing.

Examples of use include: environmental analysis when separating solid matter from aqueous soil extracts; filtration of calcium carbonate for analysis in the cement industry; barium sulfate and metastannic acid for use in glazes, coatings, and pigments.
